Land Use and Planning
As contained in the Land Use and Zoning Ordinance No. 569, series of 1997, there are 12 classifications as enumerated. Residential, Agricultural, commercial forest, medium industrial, light industrial, institutional, waterways, park system, road network, swamps and marshes and utilities.
Location of commerce, residential, trading, industrial, tourism, agricultural and others, relative to the linkage between them, was based on the availability of suitable land.
The ordinance classifies, controls and gives order to zoning and land use. Revisions and reclassifications in the Sangguniang Panglungsod were made as requested, to conform to the actual land use in some areas.
