Tacloban City- After visiting different barangays, the City Government of Tacloban through the office of Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez continuously pursues its campaign “SEARCH, KILL AND DESTROY OPERATION” against possible breeding grounds of mosquitoes, this time in schools.
Together with the team of Search, kill and Destroy Operation, Tacloban City Councilor Cristina Gonzales Romualdez personally visited Leyte National High School to spearhead the operation last Friday.
During the operation, Councilor Cristina Romualdez took the chance to conduct ocular inspection in the surroundings of the said school, where brushwood of trees were trimmed and plants that hold water like bromeliad plants that can be one of its breeding grounds were destroyed.

Hon. Cristina Gonzales Romualdez led the school officials, GPTA officers, students and A team from the city government during the search and destroy operation at the Leyte National High School (LNHS) last week.
In an exclusive interview with Councilor Cristina Romualdez, she said that the team of SEARCH, KILL AND DESTROY OPERATION went there thru the request of General Parents Teachers Association because of reports of dengue cases.
According to Councilor Romualdez, Mr Miguel Daguinod, LNHS Principal confirmed that there were already 6 cases of dengue in said school.
It was also learned from Principal Daguinod that there were other students brought to hospitals suffering of high fever during the last few days which he feared that it would be another case of the dreaded disease.
Meanwhile, LNHS -GPTA Jaime Lorenzo said that one first year high school student died weeks ago due to dengue leading to GPTA’s immediate request for the Tacloban City Government’s assistance in the fight against the mosquito killers.
The lady Councilor expressed gratitude to the members of LNHS-GPTA including the School Officials for their trust and willingness to ask assistance from the local government unit.
She then urged to other Universities and School Authorities here in Tacloban City to coordinate with the Mayor’s Office or her office in Balyuan if they also need for assistance.
The task force Anti-dengue “Search, kill and Destroy operation” of the Tacloban City Government, according to Councilor Cristina Romualdez, will continue its campaign and intensifies awareness to Taclobanons.
