Tacloban City – “Protect our children from DENGUE” was one of the strong statement made by Tacloban City Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez during an interview held recently at the City Mayor’s Office.

According to Mayor Alfred, “ I call on the parents to help clean our environment and  protect our children by instructing them to go home at ones after school and not to play anywhere now that dengue is a threat”.

The children are the best victims the dengue mosquito would love to nibble.  And they are the vulnerable ones,  who plays in dark places and corner of the house where mosquitoes dwell.

Mayor Romualdez further promote  that Self protection, the second S in managing dengue fever should  be taken into consideration. Self protection includes wearing clothes to cover exposed area of the body such as wearing long pants or jogging pants, long sleeves shirts or blouses, applying anti-repellant lotion and screening the house.

If we just follow the preventive measures to be applied for,  to fight dengue, then  there’s a big possibility that we can get rid of this dengue fever, Mayor Alfred said.
