Tacloban City – Of the six (6) National Brigada Eskwela 2010 awardees identified in Eastern Visayas, Tacloban City got two (2) school awardees.
This was disclosed by Tacloban City Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Ronilo Al K. Firmo in an interview.
According to Dr. Firmo, the two schools identified to receive the award are Sto. Nino Sped Center and Nula-Tula Elementary School.
Sto. Nino Sped Center will get its third Brigada Eskwela National Awards for Exceptional Schools Category while Nula-Tula Elementary School will obtain a similar National Award for Small Category, Dr. Firmo added.

Previously , Sto. Nino Sped Center got two (2) other national awards for Brigada Eskwela year 2008 and 2009. To receive its award will be its principals Miguel Dumas of Sto. Nino Sped Center and Edgar Tenasas of Nula-tula Elementary School.
Brigada Eskwela awards were given to schools in recognition to those who actively participated in preparing its schools in time for the opening of classes. With the concerted efforts of the school administration, teachers, parents, students, stakeholders and the community itself Sto. Nino Sped Center and Nula-Tula Elementary schools both from Tacloban City made it to the Brigada Eskwela 2010 National Award.
The National Brigada Eskwela 2010 Awards will be given today June 18 at the Balyuan Amphitheater. Around 400 participants and guests regionwide will witness said awarding ceremony. Proud of Sto. Nino Sped Center and Nula-tula Elementary School accomplishment Tacloban City Mayor Alfred S. Romuladez will welcome the National Brigada Eskwela 2010 awardees.
Expected to attend said Awarding ceremony will be Department of Education (DEPED) Sec. Mona Valisno, former DEPED Sec. Jess Lapuz and other DEPED officials.
