TACLOBAN CITY (CIO) – The City Government of Tacloban through Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez will stage this Saturday, June 22, 6:00 pm the Miss Tacloban 2019 Coronation Night at the Tacloban City Convention Center (Astrodome).

Fourteen lovely ladies will vie for the coveted Miss Tacloban title; they are Jean Pearl Quennie Lago Maraviles (18), Angel Rose Campo Tambal (20), Czarmy Fabillar Alcober (20), Isabella Balboa (18), Myka Cyrill Lachica Cadaro (18), Allyzza Atibula Lagera (18), Nicole kaye Samson Morano (21), Ashleen Joy Isabelo Llaneta (18), May Ann Togonon Ygrubay (19), Guila Isabela Cinco Rona (18), Jhyry Ross “Jhy” Palop Yboa (18), Bianca Cassandra “Biam” Go Devora (18), Belinda Astorga Movido (19) and Maerylle Dela Cruz Blauta (19).

The Miss Tacloban titleholder will take home Php 50,000, while Miss Tacloban Eco-Tourism and Miss Tacloban Charity will each get Php 40,000 and Php 30,000. First and Second runners-up will get Php 20,000 and 10,000, respectively. Non-winning candidates will get 3,000 as a consolation prize.

Major Awards of the pageant are Best in Catwalk, Best in Filipiniana Attire, Best in Gown and Best in Swimsuit; while minor awards include Miss Photogenic, Best in Production and Best in eloquence.

Among the judges for this year’s pageant are several National Beauty Title Holders, a Businesswoman, and an International Pageant Blogger.

As Tacloban’s Ambassador of Goodwill, Miss Tacloban will represent the City in National Beauty Competitions and promote local tourist destinations.

Hosting the coronation night is Troy Montero, with Hashtag CK as a guest performer.

The Pageant is part of the month-long Sangyaw Festivities which started last June 1 until June 30, 2019, the date of the City’s Fiesta in honor of Señor Sto. Niño De Tacloban. One of the Festival Highlights is the Sangyaw Festival of Lights Parade on June 29 at 6:00 PM which will have 22 competing Dance and Float Contingents. – H.J. Roca/CIO
