70 motor cabs for hire and PUVs issued with tickets and notices for non-compliance with the minimum health standards
At least 70 unregistered motor cab for hire (MCH) and public utility vehicles (PUV) were issued with citation tickets and notice of violation for non-compliance with the minimum health standards, during the random joint operation on Tuesday, June 15.
Personnel from business permits and Licenses Division (BPLD), Traffic Operation Management Enforcement and Control Office (TOMECO), and Tacloban City Police conducted the said inspection to ensure the safety of the commuters in this City.
BPLD Transport Section in-charge, Gerry Abilar, said that aside from flagging down those without pertinent documents, most violations involved the non-installation of plastic barriers for passengers inside the vehicles and failure to implement the COVID-19 safety protocols.
Due to the continuing threats posed by this pandemic, drivers and passengers must wear a facemask and faceshield to increase protection against the virus.
