The City Development Council (CDC) and Local Special Bodies (LSB) in Tacloban City convened on Wednesday, December 11, to tackle the City’s Garbage situation and discuss the relevant features of Executive Order 70, which seeks to end local communist armed conflict and create inclusive and sustainable peace.

According to the Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) City Director Atty. Darwin Bibar, the joint meeting was intended to give genuine participation and representation to both the CDC and LSB as regards to planning and development programs of the local government.

Among the LSB involved in the meeting were the City Peace and Order Council, City Anti-Drug Abuse Council, Local Health Board and the Local School Board.

Meanwhile, Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez, in his message, asked the participation and support of all the barangay chairmen of the 138 barangays in enforcing and implementing the laws for the progress and convenience of the people in Tacloban.

The meeting also highlighted a discussion on the City’s Solid Waste Management Plan which reminded the barangay officials present to do their part in the implementation of R.A 9003 (or the Ecological Solid Waste Management Act) in their respective communities.

The joint meeting was spearheaded by the City Government of Tacloban through the City Planning and Development Office in coordination with the City DILG.
