City’s local economy doing well
Mayor Alfred Romualdez assures Taclobanons that the city’s local economy is doing well despite the drawbacks of the pandemic.
The chief executive, in a message during the 88th Founding Anniversary of the Department of Labor and Employment, emphasized how the City Government has been toiling on creating more jobs in Tacloban by inviting more investors to come in.
“As your Mayor, I try very much to even the playing field of the City of Tacloban by inviting investors to come in. I can say na maganda naman ‘yung takbo ng ekonomiya natin,” Mayor Romualdez said while stressing the importance of giving importance and loving the job that comes in one’s way.
“Naniniwala ako na kailangang mag-invest ng gobyerno sa tao, kaya the City Government focuses on that. We have allocated almost 500 jobs sa Norte,” Romualdez added.
He then congratulated and thanked DOLE Region 8, who has always been a partner to the city government, together with DTI and PESO, in helping the job-related needs of the Taclobanons.
Meanwhile, DOLE- R8 commemorated their founding anniversary thru a job fair at Robinsons North- Abucay coinciding with the TUPAD Ceremonial Awarding to 228 beneficiaries, today, December 8, 2021, with this year’s theme, “Tuloy-tuloy na pagTUPAD sa serbisyong tapat!”
