Tacloban City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO) quickly responded to the immediate needs of the fire victims in Brgy. 2, Jones St., this city.

The 10 identified fire victims, who are family members of Eduardo Balaga Manigo (73yo) and Dino Carañagan Fernandez (42yo), received family food packs, 6 kilos rice/family, hygiene kits, cooking gears, used clothing, brand new t-shirts & short pants, and 1 pack sleeping gears/family from CSWDO yesterday.

According to Ms. Corazon Binoya, In-charge for disaster response, the office is right now preparing a report to recommend said families for financial assistance from the LGU and NHA. They are set to check on the two families today, February 16, 2021, for further assessment and assistance, says Ms. Binoya.

As soon as the CSWDO learned about the fire which happened yesterday in the said area, February 15, 2021, at around 1:00 PM, the office OIC Ms. Chona Bahin immediately sent her staff to the place to conduct investigation and interviews for data establishment.

CSWDO tries to be quick and systematic in its relief operations as part of the directives of Mayor Alfred S. Romualdez for efficient disaster response.
