Mayor Romualdez urged Public Offices, Private Establishments in Tacloban to display National Flag on June 12
TACLOBAN CITY (CIO) – Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez has urged government offices and private establishment in Tacloban City to display the Philippine Flag prominently in celebration of the 121st Philippine Independence Day this June 12, 2019.
In an Executive Order (EO) signed by Mayor Romualdez dated May 24, 2019, she directed the prominent display of the National Flag in all public parks, schools, buildings and establishments within Tacloban City on the Anniversary of the Philippine Independence.
“The Philippine Flag does not only invoke pride in our citizens but is also a representation of a living country and the flag itself is considered a living thing and is a fitting emblem for display, “stated the E.O.
Mayor Romualdez said that by displaying the national flag we observe with pride our independence day “a time to honor the Republic of the Philippines.”
The local government unit of Tacloban has prepared a solemn ceremony to mark the Independence Anniversary. After the 5:30 am Holy Mass at the Santo Nino Parish Church on Wednesday, a simple program will follow at the City Hall Grounds.
Highlights of the program will be the parade of colors and Flag Raising Ceremony. Local Officials will also impart their Independence Day messages during the ceremony that will be capped by a releasing of doves. – H. J. Roca/CIO
