Mayor Cristina G. Romualdez has ordered the City Engineer’s Office and City Architect’s Office to conduct an inspection and structural assessment of public buildings in Tacloban City “to determine the effect and impact of the earthquake to the structural integrity of the (said) buildings.”

An intensity 5 tremor struck Tacloban at 1:37 pm on Tuesday prompting the local government unit to suspend work in City Government Offices, and business establishments within the downtown area to temporarily close shop. The LGU also dispatched the city rescue units in the aftermath of the earthquake.
