Participants from the local government, the academe, and the media attended the 2019 Presidential Communications Operations Office (PCOO) Roadshow held at the Leyte Normal University in Tacloban City on Friday, March 29, 2019.

According to PCOO Secretary Jose Ruperto Martin Andanar, the roadshow intends to ensure an extensive reach for the agency’s information, education, and communications campaign.

Andanar also said that the other objectives of the roadshow are to increase media and information literacy and end the proliferation of fake news and engage the public on initiatives and achievements of the Duterte administration.

The three-hour information campaign included talks on “Rehabinasyon” dubbed as the national government’s all-encompassing campaign against illegal drugs and the Freedom of Information (FOI) Program which seeks to raise public awareness on transparency and accountability in governance.

Other key speakers of the roadshow were Undersecretary Joel Sy Egco, Executive Director of the Presidential Task Force on Media Security (PTFoMS), PCOO Assistant Secretary for Brand Integration Ramon Cualoping III and FOI Engagement Officer, Pearl Iris Clemente.
