TESDA practicumers from Tacloban North collect garbage around Supermarket
As part of their practicum, twenty (20) scholars from North Hill Arbours and Brgy. Salvacion collected biodegradable wastes around Tacloban Supermarket last June 21, 2021.
According to Mr. Jose ‘Boyen’ Castillejos, Jr., TESDA certified trainer and owner of Pitahaya Farm, those market wastes such as fruit and vegetable peels were used as materials for “vermicomposting” which is the main focus of the said training.
All locally displaced individuals due to Covid-19 pandemic, these scholars finished their eight-day training on Produce Organic Fertilizer Leading to Organic Agriculture Production NCII and Entrepreneurship on June 24, 2021.
Meanwhile, the Certificate of Competency and the skills gained from the training are aimed to help these locally displaced workers provide livelihood for themselves and their respective families.
Meantime, the graduation ceremony is set to happen on July 2, 2021 at the Pitahaya Farm in Brgy. Salvacion, Tacloban City.
