The local government thru its #resbakuna team on Thursday (October 21) rolled out its inoculation for college students for their protection in preparation of the return of face-to-face classes eventually. A total of 190 students, aged 18 and older, from state universities and colleges; Eastern Visayas State University (100) and Leyte Colleges (90) were targeted to receive the first shot of the Sinovac vaccine brand at Robinsons Place in Marasbaras.

The said move was in coordination with the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) and the Department of Health Eastern Visayas (DOH), as both agencies provided the master list of those who are viable for vaccination. Another batch of students from higher education institutions (HEIs) is expected to be served in tomorrow’s vaccination rollout to ramp up its efforts for herd immunity and to give way for the inoculation of younger population or those 12-17 years old in mid-November.
